Job Summary:

Layout Engineer-PCB Design using Altium tool. This position is responsible for all related to Multilayer & High- speed PCB Design, Schematic Drafting, Co-ordination activities with team and client.

  • Multilayer PCB Design with Rigid and with Rigid-flex.
  • Footprint creation as per IPC standards.
  • High-speed PCB Designs.
  • High current Designs
  • Schematic Symbol creation and drafting
  • Bill of Material generation
  • Deliverables package for Fabrication.
  • Cam350 experience.
  • Tool Migration from one tool to another tool.
  • B.E/ B. Tech in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent level of knowledge or demonstrable experience in PCB design role.
  • Experience in Electronics PCB design industry
  • Tools: Altium
  • Schematic creation / Entry, Footprint (Library Creation & Management)
  • Board outline and mechanicals, Importing Net list, Design Rule settings.
  • Component Placement, PCB Routing, Post processing and Gerber settings
  • Solid understanding of layout techniques for good Signal Integrity.
  • Sound knowledge in Gerber editing, CAM editing like Blind/ Buried/ Micro Vias & Impedance controlled PCB Design.
  • Layout Design of Highspeed PCBs up to 6 layers.
  • Good knowledge on component package.
  • Experience of working with design constraints for Hi-Speed digital and analogue routing.
  • Incorporate PCB modifications to existing. product as requested primarily via engineering change orders.
  • Must have the good communication skill (read/write).
  • Other ECAD tools OrCAD, Pads.
  • Play the individual role with clients while designing.
  • Understanding the requirements of Layout and explore the challenges and suggestions.
  • Migrating the designs between the tools.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest PCB design trends, Altium Designer software updates, and emerging technologies.
Essential Skill set:
  • Hands on experience of managing complete existing product development activities (Namely Cost out, Quality and Product obsolescence) for product-based organizations.
  • Good experience on existing product development process and working with remote team.
  • Strong in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5~8 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience in Vendor Qualification, developing Manufacturing Quality plan, Tooling and component qualification & Thorough understanding of PPAP process.
Desirable Skill set:
  • Excellent organizational skills required to manage small and large projects.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and practices in the design, development, and verification of possible solutions
  • Ability to develop design concepts and turn into finished/product launch.
  • Mechanical design knowledge ranging from component design to system level.
  • Knowledge on either one of the below processes

    • -Value engineering methodologies and how to apply them.

    -Quality Project execution and standards such as Risk assessment, Root cause analysis procedures, DFMEA, PFMEA, ISO, etc.

    -Obsolescence management

  • Knowledge of DFM & DFA with respect to ease of manufacture and assembly.
  • Oversee testing and analysis of products to determine product performance.
  • Knowledge of various fabrication methods for the manufacturing of metal and plastic parts – machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding is required.
  • Skilled in 3D modeling software (Solid Works) is preferred.
