Job Summary:

Minimum 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with expertise in plastics, sheet metal, casting, and machining. Proven experience leading teams and managing technical projects in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Lead and support cost-out and VAVE projects by identifying opportunities for savings and design improvement.
  • Develop and implement cost-out strategies to optimize material, manufacturing, and design processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team on various manufacturing processes, including plastics, sheet metal, casting, and machining.
  • Support the team in developing and executing test cases, test methods, and system-level designs.
  • Evaluate design feasibility from a manufacturing engineering perspective. Propose alternative manufacturing solutions to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Track and report project deliverables, milestones, and outcomes to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to explore advanced manufacturing techniques and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and manufacturing, to achieve project goals.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align on project requirements and deliverables.
  • Present technical solutions, cost optimization strategies, and project updates to Client and relevant teams.
  • Strong expertise in value engineering principles and cost optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and feasibility assessments.
  • Knowledge of test case development, test methods, and system-level design.
  • Proficient in technical reviews, project planning, and deliverable management.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Essential Skill set:
  • Hands on experience of managing complete existing product development activities (Namely Cost out, Quality and Product obsolescence) for product-based organizations.
  • Good experience on existing product development process and working with remote team.
  • Strong in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5~8 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience in Vendor Qualification, developing Manufacturing Quality plan, Tooling and component qualification & Thorough understanding of PPAP process.
Desirable Skill set:
  • Excellent organizational skills required to manage small and large projects.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and practices in the design, development, and verification of possible solutions
  • Ability to develop design concepts and turn into finished/product launch.
  • Mechanical design knowledge ranging from component design to system level.
  • Knowledge on either one of the below processes

    • -Value engineering methodologies and how to apply them.

    -Quality Project execution and standards such as Risk assessment, Root cause analysis procedures, DFMEA, PFMEA, ISO, etc.

    -Obsolescence management

  • Knowledge of DFM & DFA with respect to ease of manufacture and assembly.
  • Oversee testing and analysis of products to determine product performance.
  • Knowledge of various fabrication methods for the manufacturing of metal and plastic parts – machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding is required.
  • Skilled in 3D modeling software (Solid Works) is preferred.
